I’ve become increasingly interested in the healing properties of different stones. Whether it’s the rocks themselves or being reminded of their natural qualities throughout the day as I aspire to embody those qualities, I soak up their wisdom. 

I currently have six pieces of honey calcite given by one of my connections on this journey. The gift was so tenderly done and when I searched the stones on Google, I found they embody personal growth, clarity, and empowerment, three qualities I wish to immerse myself in as I make these million connections. 

These six stones are meant to be shared as well along my journey. Along with a story. 

I met Andrea, my 97th connection, while going to get the mail. I met her and her dog by the condo complex pool, picking up weeds that pushed through the rocks. She does this to beautify the property each week on her daily walks. 

We spoke for 2 hours. 

She went to modeling school at age 14, taking the bus from New Jersey to Manhattan. Then went on to get her degree in Fine Arts from Syracuse. 

Her father played the most beautiful piano music and she would sit at the keys while he played until he passed away when she was 12. 

As we talked, she shared more stories of her past and how difficult it is to meet people. She, like me, doesn’t drive anymore. We swapped notes on local resources for seniors and having our groceries delivered. 

She invited me into her home to share her art and familiar objects, giving me so many gifts, including the six pieces of honey calcite. In return, I gave her a mini watercolor set so she could paint on her walks. 

I’m going back two days after meeting to share time and space with her again. 

This is a soul-to-soul journey unfolding at its own pace. I’m here for every part of it.
